Combine Harvester

Chopping System

After threshing, two types of materials other than grain are left over for processing: straw and chaff.

The straw remaining from the Separating System (agitators or rotary separators) can be windrowed or chopped. If it does not need to be stored, it can be chopped and spread in the fields, which will make stubble ploughing easier. The straw is processed by an extra fine-cut chopping system consisting of moving and fixed knives adapted to different harvesting applications.

Fan airflow extracts the chaff from the Cleaning system. A chaff spreader, comprised of discs and paddles, distributes it evenly according the required working width.

Routine inspection and replacement of these components will guarantee chopping quality and controlled, uniform spreading. As a result, residue is quickly incorporated into the soil for the next planting season.  To make sure you get reliable parts that boost your machine’s performance, LANDA offers you a wide selection of wear parts for your Combine Harvester’s Chopping System, fully adapted to your machine at competitive prices.
