Lower Feed Rolls

For high-performance intake into the cutting drum, and also to protect it against foreign objects, your machine must be equipped with quality lower feed rolls. That’s why LANDA gives you complete and reliable support in tackling these operations by offering a selection of lower feed rolls for a wide range of forage harvesters.

Lower Front Feed Rolls

The Lower Front Feed Roll is one of the first rollers to come in contact with the crop flow. Wear bars are added to the lower front feed roll to ensure the “grip” action and intake speed you need for your conditions. The roller is equipped with a metal detector so that your forage harvester can accurately recognise any ferrous foreign objects in the crop and immediately stop the intake to avoid damage. To protect this sensor against unwanted interferences, the rollers, wear bars and bolts are demagnetised, ensuring optimal efficiency of your forage harvester’s metal detection system.

Smooth Roll

The Smooth Roll is one of the last components in the feeding system that ensures a compressed crop flow before it reaches the cutting drum. It is fitted with scrapers for even, smooth crop flow right up to the shearbar. Abrasive crops continually flow through the rollers, reducing the diameter of the smooth roll and eating away at the scraper. Since these components are subject to wear in equal proportions, it is recommended that you replace them at the same time. To increase the service life of these parts, LANDA offers a selection of induction surface-hardened smooth rolls and Tungsten carbide-coated scrapers.

Lower Middle Feed Roll

Certain forage harvester models can be equipped with an additional lower feed roll. Situated between the front and rear lower roller, the lower middle feed roll, depending on the manufacturer, ensures that the crop stays in the feeder unit longer, optimising the crop flow compression and the chopping action in the drum.
